Online Technical Requirements

To ensure full functionality and stability, test your connection here. OPD recommends that you download the Zoom client.

You will have an opportunity opportunity to test your video and audio; your own video will be reflected back to you from the Zoom website.

If you experience quality problems during the test, it is likely you will experience them on the day of your program. We suggest you contact us for assistance if the video is of poor quality – email: OPDSupport@osgoode.yorku.ca 

If you are unable to run the Zoom client on your work-provided device, there are two options that work for almost everyone:

Join the program using a personal computer and follow the test links above

OR

Use your company-owned machine to run Zoom in a web browser. This will work for almost all corporate devices. Instructions for doing this are as follows:

1. Click the link to join the meeting.
2. If prompted to open the Zoom desktop client, click Cancel.
3. Click the ‘Join from your Browser link’.
Note: If you don’t see this option, click ‘Launch Meeting’ and then select ‘Cancel’.
4. You will be prompted to enter your name.
5. Click ‘Join’.

For mobile devices, you will be prompted to install the Zoom app from the relevant store (Google Play or Apple App Store). For PCs and Macs, the client can be downloaded using the red ‘Download Zoom’ button above.
