Mediation plays a critical role in our justice system.  It requires a special skill set and it raises unique challenges both for mediators and counsel representing clients in mediation.

Mediators must constantly strive to stay on top of new and developing issues while continuing to hone their skills.  Counsel must also keep abreast of developments so that they can achieve the best possible results for their clients.

Whether you are a mediator or an advocate who appears in mediation settings, this year’s program will take you through a crucial step in the mediation process: preparing for mediation.

The conference will focus on topics that will give you the tools and insight to help you enter mediation having reviewed important considerations and well-prepared for challenges and ethical dilemmas that may come your way.

The conference will provide you with practical takeaway skills and allow you to participate in an interactive session where you will discuss preparation nuances in specific areas of interest.

This joint program between the Winkler Institute for Dispute Resolution, the International Academy of Mediators and Osgoode Professional Development was developed by a faculty of leading Canadian and international experts to provide valuable insights and practical tips for both mediators and counsel. It is a unique opportunity to have them all in one room. You will engage with the best and walk away with tools that you can immediately use in your practice.

Registration includes online attendance, program materials and 120-day access to program archive (program archive will consist of recordings of plenary sessions and large group discussions).
