Financial Statements in Family Law: Know What to Ask. Know What to Look For. Know How to Use It.

A comprehensive, practical, step-by-step program for family lawyers who want to confidently prepare and work with financial statements, with expert guidance on common pitfalls and more complex issues that can arise in practice.

Financial Statements are an important part of many family law files, and preparing them well requires more than filling in the form. Knowing what to ask your client, what to question and where issues may arise can make a meaningful difference to how you approach a file.

Whether you are newer to family law or have years of experience, this program gives you the practical tools to prepare, review and use financial statements with confidence. Work through the statement from start to finish and get expert insight into the issues that can be easy to miss, including income, property and business valuations, debts, exclusions and contingent liabilities.

But completing the form is only part of the job. Learn how to use the financial statement to inform settlement discussions, identify issues in opposing financial information and strengthen your position at court.

In an intimate online environment, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, engage directly with experienced faculty and learn from other family law professionals.

Space is strictly limited to keep the program interactive and hands-on.

Can’t Make the Date? Registration includes 120-day unlimited, online access to the recorded program.

“It was so helpful – for people who have not yet done financial statements, but also those who have. It was super helpful to have experts come in to explain why numbers are entered into the financial statement (so its not just a form filling exercise).”
