What is advanced standing?
It’s a formal request to apply non-degree courses to your degree or diploma. This involves two steps:
Step 1: Request approval in your first term Once you register in your LLM or Diploma program, let your Program Assistant know you’d like to petition for advanced standing. They’ll guide you through the process. Petitions are typically approved if:
1. You submit the request in your first term (late requests won’t be accepted)
2. The courses align with your program’s degree requirements
Step 2: Receive a tuition bursary at graduation If your petition is approved, once you’ve met all graduation requirements, the tuition you paid for those non-degree courses will be refunded as a bursary at the end of your program.
