This year marks the tenth anniversary of the LLM in Canadian Common Law. The program, whose inaugural cohort was 29 students, has evolved into Canada’s largest, and most diverse program for internationally trained lawyers.
The program boasts:
- A network of nearly 1,000 alumni from more than 60 countries
- Twenty-five courses with traditional in person learning and distance problem-based learning options
- Distance learning options that open the program up to students from across Canada
“We believe we have a responsibility to aid in the diversification of the legal profession in Canada,” says Meghan Thomas, Director International and Professional Graduate Programs, who has worked on the Canadian Common Law program from the beginning. “The program has welcomed so many talented students from all corners of the globe over the past ten years. It’s an honour to be a part of students’ journeys to accreditation and to see our alumni succeed in such a broad range of roles and practice areas.”
Over the years, we’ve featured stories about what our alumni are up to on our blog but as part of our ten year celebration we decided to take a closer look at what alumni have achieved and the different paths they’ve taken in the years since graduation. You’ll see below some statistics that show more detail on the classes of 2015, 2017, and 2019, visually demonstrating the varied paths of just some of our alumni.
